An Irish sheepdog family is torn apart on multiple fronts: internal conflicts, family feuds, rivalry with another farmer. The cycle of paternalism, inheritance, and generational trauma through the prism of Irish culture. Paul Mescal and Tom Burke were originally cast in the lead roles, but both ultimately dropped out after the project stalled in development and were replaced by Barry Keoghan and Christopher Abbott. 69th CORK FILM FEST – #3 (PREMIER + Q&A) A fast-paced revenge film that never has a dull moment, somehow managing to do the impossible, in my opinion. The entire cast does a fantastic job, but the standouts may be Nora-Jane Murphy, Barry Keoghan, and Christopher Abbot (whose accents are unreal for an American). They both do much more with their roles than anyone else. Abuse, violence, and the inability to communicate are very common here. They’re still very relevant in our world right now, so they really spoke to me. I’m really excited to revisit this in the general release.
