The locations that were the Higman family store and Norman and Nick’s BBQ restaurant are also real family-owned businesses
Tale
Alana Higman, a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan, and her family are vying for the team’s Fan of the Year award, as judged by Derrick, Director of Fan Engagement. Satisfy your happily ever after with this year’s collection of holiday-themed romantic movies that you can watch in the comfort of your own home. The movie was filmed on location in historic Independence Square in Independence, Missouri, which actually looks like it all year round.
The story was so sweet and funny
The Square also lights up with Christmas lights to match the movie. This movie was pure, funny, heartwarming joy, and I still smile about it. It was such a sweet love story and a Christmas movie.
This movie was just what I needed in my life right now – a sweet holiday getaway
It spoke not only to me as a fan of rom-coms, but also to my sports fan self who loves the thrill of rooting for his teams – both his own and the new team he’s been drafted to. Go, Chiefs! I also really enjoyed Derrick’s story, as he was lonely, adrift, and perhaps a little lacking in a fulfilling and traditional family life, and he was really drawn to this warm, welcoming, colorful family.
The writing was great
and sweet, tender, and clever, eliciting a few unexpected tears, hearty laughs, and the occasional “awwww” from my lips. And there was such believable chemistry between these two characters. Hunter King and Tyler Hynes’ performances were flawless, genuine, and funny, and we felt an energy and connection from both of them as they brought their characters to life.
This film was also wonderfully enriched by the supporting characters, who really brought depth and color to this wonderful story
The more I think about it, the more I want to watch it all the time and feel the happiness it brings.
