Townsman: [referring to Marjorie Nugen] I’d kick your ass in a heartbeat
Tale
In a small Texas town, a friendly undertaker befriends a wealthy widow, but when she begins to control him, he does everything he can to avoid her power. The film features real-life Carthage, Texas residents who knew the real Bernie Teed and Marjorie Nugen as commentators. Bernie committed the murder in 1996, but answers a call on his iPhone almost immediately after the murder.
I mean, she’ll tear your brand-new, three-bedroom, two-bath, double-wide ass apart
No problem. Before the main credits, photos of the real Bernie and Marjorie together are shown, as well as a short video of Bernie Teed talking to Jack Black, and the second is 1 hour 44 minutes (104 minutes) (US). ..
It was a surprisingly good film
included in the show’s cast starring Jay Leno: Jack Black/New York Meatball Shop Boys/Beirut (2012). Love Lifted Me writers James Rowe and Howard E. Smith are performing The Florida Boys, which is being provided to World Entertainment by arrangement with Warner Music Group Film & TV Licensing.
Based on the murder of a wealthy widow in Carthage, Texas in 1996
Director Richard Linklater brilliantly combines a semi-documentary style with black comedy and tragic real-life events. This film provides an interesting look at small-town life and how the people there cope with this unique situation. Jack Black proves he can act, Matthew McConaughey seems to be enjoying life, and Shirley MacLaine, despite not having much to do, is still a welcome addition to the cast.
This is one of those independent films that is a must-see
Linklater even uses real-life townspeople to help tell the story, using their own memories of the events.
