Michael Schur was inspired to create "A Man On the Inside" after watching Chilean documentary "The Mole Agent"
Tale
Charles, a retired man, gets a new lease on life when he answers an ad from a private investigator and becomes a mole in a secret investigation in a nursing home.. He says: "The Mole Agent" documentary is powerful because it makes people feel something remarkably similar across any age, ethnicity or gender, and I'd describe that feeling in a very reductive way as, "I've got to call my mom." In our show, we tried to do a similar thing with the tone: Basically, does our show contribute to that feeling of making us want to call our moms?.
Remake of El agente topo (2020)
I am 67 years old and it was so wonderful to see so many of our generation of actors and their great comedic styles. These actors only get better with age and are wonderfully cast in this sweet Comedy Series!
That's ok because you have a pretty good idea who is the culprit about half way through
The script gets a little lost trying to solve the mystery and gets more in depth with the character's storylines. You don't mind that it isn't really a mystery because you are just having a fun time watching these golden oldies work and show their stuff.
It's really no mystery
Just a tribute to how brave you have to be an older citizen and still active and feel seen in our youth oriented society. What a sweet tribute to those who support and help us navigate the minefields of getting old this series was.
